Pour accroître l'apport de lumière naturelle, améliorer la visibilité ou la circulation d'air, le rideau de porte peut être équipé de fenêtres, de panneaux de vision ou de moustiquaires. Ces fenêtres et moustiquaires ont des dimensions fixes et sont disposées selon une grille prédéfinie. Un panneau de vision ou de moustiquaire est toujours placé sur toute la largeur du rideau de porte, sa hauteur centrale étant conforme à la norme industrielle de 1 600 mm

Au bas des montants latéraux, un renfort au vent est installé autour du guide latéral afin d'accroître la résistance de la porte aux charges du vent. La partie inférieure du tablier est la plus vulnérable aux charges du vent. Ce renfort empêche le tablier de sortir des guides latéraux
