Warranty details

Normstahl overhead sectional doors and Normstahl side sectional doors up to 2 bays come with a 10-year guarantee including all wearing parts.

Normstahl roller doors, one-piece doors and industrial doors come with a 2-year guarantee. Normstahl door operators from the SPARK series come with a 5-year guarantee on the operator mechanism and a 2-year guarantee on the electronics. Normstahl dock levellers and dock shelters come with a 2-year guarantee on fixed parts and a 2-year guarantee on the electronics and moving parts.

 

Registration of a warranty claim

In order to be able to assert a warranty claim, the legal sequence of the contractual partners must be complied with; the claims are not transferable. The warranty claim must be submitted by email via the contractual partner of doors and parts at the time of purchase before expiry of the specified warranty period in accordance with the legal sequence.

The damage must be described in writing. To register a warranty claim, the customer is obliged to send us the original invoice or a copy thereof as described above. Regulation of a warranty case neither prolongs nor reduces the warranty period. The statutory warranty and guarantee rights of the customer are not restricted by this warranty regardless of whether the warranty case occurs and whether a claim is made under the warranty.

Doors and door surfaces near the coast or coastal regions are subject to aggressive influences and require additional protection in this regard!

 

Warranty Declaration

doors and parts provide warranties on its products going beyond the statutory guarantee. The scope of this warranty is set out below.

 

Warranty for garage doors

All Normstahl overhead sectional doors and side sectional doors up to a maximum of 2 parking spaces (except one-piece doors, roller doors, Smart XL and industrial doors) installed and/or used in Germany are covered by a 10-year guarantee from the date of invoice (5 years for roller doors and 2 years for up-and-over doors, Smart XL, industrial doors and custom-made products outside the price list). This guarantee includes:

 

Part warranty

Products or parts thereof, explicitly including wearing parts, that are unusable or whose usability is significantly impaired due to an incorrect design or defective construction, will be repaired or replaced free of charge at Normstahl‘s discretion. The removal and installation costs, and the costs of an unsolicited return will not be reimbursed. Replaced parts will become our property. We are authorized to recall replaced parts.

 

Surface warranty

The surface warranty for all door coatings in an original colour fitted within Germany* covers adhesion of the coloured material, corrosion protection and lightfastness. Changes of colour that can occur over time are excluded from the warranty.

 

Warranty for door operators

doors and parts provide from the invoice date a 5-year warranty for the drive mechanisms on Normstahl SPARK series as well as a 2-year warranty on the electronics where they are installed and/or used in Germany.

 

Warranty for loading technology

doors and parts provide from the invoice date a 5-year warranty for fixed parts of Normstahl loading bridges and door seals as well as a 2-year warranty on the electronics and moving parts where they are installed and/or used in Germany.

 

Warranty exclusion

The following are excluded from the warranty:

a) Damage due to external influences or actions, particularly installation by third parties.

b) Damage or modifications to wooden surrounds and glazing.

c) Surface protection on frame components that are permanently attached to the building.

d) Changes in colour of door systems due to increased environmental influences and fading which may occur over time.

e) Expansion of door leaf due to effects of sunlight.

f) Transport damages.

g) Wearing parts and consumables on door operators (light bulbs, fuses, battery).

h) Damage due to excess voltage.

i) Damage caused by maintenance carried out inadequately or not at all.

j) Damage caused by care of the surface finish carried out inadequately or not at all.

k) Damage due to force majeure.

l) Damage due to improper use or overloading.

The warranty is void if the buyer is in arrears with payments or if the claim for the defect is not made in writing immediately after identification of the damage. The buyer or a third party cannot derive any additional rights from this warranty, in particular no claims for damages of any kind or offsetting or withholding rights.
